Questions Answered
The Espresso ESP Airdrop distributes ESP tokens — the native token of Espresso's modular shared sequencer network — to early ecosystem participants. Espresso Systems provides decentralised, high-throughput transaction sequencing as infrastructure for L2 networks, enabling fast finality and cross-rollup composability.
Espresso's shared sequencer is modular infrastructure that replaces centralised L2 sequencers with a decentralised HotShot BFT consensus network. It provides fast pre-confirmations (under 1 second), MEV resistance and cross-rollup atomic composability — meaning transactions can span multiple L2 chains simultaneously.
Eligible participants include: Espresso testnet participants (Cappuccino, Doppio, Decaf), HotShot validator node operators, L2 teams integrating Espresso (3× multiplier), active users of Espresso-integrated L2 networks (2× multiplier), smart contract developers on Espresso-powered chains, and early community contributors.
Espresso has announced integrations with Arbitrum Orbit chains, OP Stack rollups, Polygon CDK chains, and zkSync-based networks. Users who interacted with these L2s during periods when Espresso's sequencer was active qualify for the integrated L2 user tier with a 2× allocation multiplier.
ESP is the native token of the Espresso network. You can stake ESP to run or delegate to sequencer nodes and earn fee revenue, participate in on-chain governance for protocol upgrades, use ESP as the fee token on Espresso-integrated L2 networks, or provide liquidity in ESP pools on integrated DEXs.
